Partysist Catering & Special Events was created in 1971 by Emma Freeman. In the early years, Ms. Freeman planned and coordinated children’s birthday parties for friends in New Orleans. Partysist’s client base grew as its regulars constantly raved about Ms. Freeman’s brilliant parties. Because of this unexpected popularity and the demand for more and different kinds of events, Emma purchased a building on Willow Street in the Carrollton neighborhood of New Orleans and expanded operations. As business grew, so did Partysist. The company enjoyed a consistent flow of happy and satisfied customers throughout the 1980s. Ms. Freeman always stressed hard work and a strong desire to go beyond fulfilling her clients’ needs. A key ingredient to Partysist’s cohesion and success is a strong family presence. Emma instilled her belief in strong, unique relationships and dedication to each event in each of the three children who work at Partysist.
Renee Freeman was assigned originally to kitchen duty part-time in 1973.  She began to work permanently for her mother in 1980 and worked her way through the ranks. She is now the General Manager and co-owner of Partysist and oversees all operational aspects of the company. Charles Freeman, now retired, started working full-time at Partysist in 1985 and later became chief financial officer. Although he no longer works on a permanent basis, he does seem to make his way into Partysist about once a week to maintain the financial aspects of the company. Finally there is Lea Freeman, Director of Sales and co-owner. Lea constantly has her finger on the pulse of clients’ needs and knows how to fulfill them. Since 1984, when she came to work full-time at Partysist, Lea has created inspired and overseen thousands of functions of all kinds. Through their collaborative effort, the Freeman family has built the foundation for what Partysist is today, the #1 Event Planning & Catering Company in New Orleans and beyond.

During the 1990s, Partysist continued to enjoy great success due to its exceptional food, service and events. Within New Orleans social circles, Partysist became synonymous with unequalled, brilliant, and majestic, and for good reasons. As a full-service company, departments within the company now include a fully staffed kitchen, diverse and well-experienced sales office (including an exclusive international wedding consultant), production department, processing center and professional wait staff for all events. There is no party or event that Partysist cannot deliver! Due to continued growth, the company once again relocated to a larger compound in early 1997. By taking advantage of the outstanding facilities this new site has to offer, we were able to handle more requests and bigger events. Since the initial transition, business has been better than ever. Partysist’s client list includes premiere companies such as Turner International Broadcasting, Nokia, Sony, Fortune 500 and Fox Broadcasting. No client request is unattainable; we’ve done parties for more than 10,000 people, starting them off with 100,000 hors d’oeuvres.
In December of 1999, Emma Freeman retired after nearly thirty glorious years of making people happy and creating life-long memories. Her spirit lives on through her daughters and the rest of the Partysist staff, as well as the wonderful clients who have had the opportunity to experience her kindness and passion at making their special occasions just that. Although she does still does come in to visit, Emma has moved on to new endeavors. In our now fourth decade, Partysist continues to enjoy growth and prosperity. We look forward to taking your dream and turning it into an extraordinary reality.
